Terms and Conditions

For every competition Wild Ripple donates a portion of the profit from the ticket sales to charities committed to the health of our UK waterways.

1. The Promoter

  • 1.1 The promoter is Wild Ripple Ltd – Company number 15765707 (the “Promoter”). Our correspondence address is 29 Church Walk, Leatherhead, Surrey KT228HH. If you wish to contact us for any reason, please email hello@wildripple.org

2. The Competition

    • 2.1 These terms and conditions (the “Terms & Conditions”) apply to all competitions listed on the Promoter’s website at www.wildripple.org (the “Website”).

    • 2.2 All competitions are skill-based competitions. You can enter all competitions either by purchasing a ticket on our website or via the free postal entry route.

    • 2.3 To have a chance of winning, every person who enters the competition (an “Entrant”) will be required to correctly answer a question set by the Promoter (the “Competition Question”).  Entering a competition is not dependant on answering the entry-question correctly and tickets are issued no matter which answer was selected by the Entrant. However only tickets that contain the correct answer to the Competition Entry Question, or Postal Entries will be entered into the final draw for the relevant competition.

3. How to enter

  • 3.1 You may enter the competition either by purchasing a ticket on our website, or for free by post, by complying with the following conditions published on our Postal Entry
  • 3.2 The competition will run from and including the opening and closing dates specified on the Website. These dates shall be referred to as the “Opening Date” and “Closing Date”. All times and dates referred to are the times and dates in London, England
  • 3.3 The Promoter reserves the right to change the Opening and Closing Dates. If the Promoter does change the Opening Date and/or the Closing Date of a competition, the new details will be displayed on the Website.
  • 3.4 All competition entries must be received by the Promoter by the specified time on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the specified time on the Closing Date are automatically disqualified and no refunds will be given.
  • 3.5 There is a limit of one postal entry per envelope and each valid entry received via postal entry shall be equivalent to a single entry into the relevant competition. There is no limit on the number of postal entries that can be submitted in each competition.
  • 3.6 The maximum number entries to the competition via the paid entry route (i.e. by purchasing a ticket on the Website) will be stated clearly on the Website.
  • 3.7
    • To enter the competition go to the Website and view the Competition Question on the competition page. You will then need to:
      • (a) complete and submit the online entry form to purchase the required number of entries, submitting your answer to the Competition Question and agreeing to the Terms & Conditions; or

    (b) enter free by post (see full info on our Postal Entry section).

  • 3.8 All entries must be submitted in the English language. Entries in languages other than English will automatically be disqualified and no refund will be given.
  • 3.9 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are not successfully completed, are lost or are delayed regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
  • 3.10 By purchasing or submitting competition entries, you are entering into a contract with the Promoter and are agreeing to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
  • 3.11 Entries cannot be assigned, transferred, or sold.

4. Choosing a Winner

  • 4.1 All valid Entrants who correctly answer the Competition Question will be placed into a draw and the winner will be chosen by random draw (the “Winner”). The random draw will take place on the Draw Date & Time as stated in the competition details on the Website.
  • 4.2 The names and entry numbers of all valid Entrants will be published on the Website on the Entry List page. 

5. Eligibility

  • 5.1 The competition is only open to residents in the United Kingdom and Ireland, aged 18 years or over.
  • 5.2 By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition and claim the prize. If you fail to provide the Promoter with any such proof or other information that they may require within a reasonable time, you may be disqualified from the competition.
  • 5.3 The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:
    • (a) automatically generated by computer; or
    • (b) incomplete.
  • 5.4 The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition. This includes if you are rude or abusive to the Promoter or anyone associated with them.
  • 5.5 No refunds of the entry fee will be given in any event, including:
    • (a) if, following your entry into the competition, you subsequently find out that you are not eligible to enter the competition or claim the prize;
    • (b) if, following your entry into the competition, the eligibility criteria for entering the competition or claiming the prize changes and you are no longer eligible; or
    • (c) if you are disqualified from the competition by the Promoter for any reason.
  • 5.6 If the Entrant engages in/or has:
    • (a) any form of fraud (actual or apparent);
    • (b) fraudulent misrepresentation;
    • (c) fraudulent concealment;
    • (d) hacking or interference with the proper functioning of the Website;
    • (e) amending, or unauthorised use of, any of the code that constitutes the Website; or
    • (f) used a non-UK address is when purchasing an entry;
    • then all of their entries will be declared void, no refunds will be given and they may be prevented from participating in any future competitions.

6. The Prize

  • 6.1 The prize for each competition is described on the Website (the “Prize”). Details of the Prize are, to the best of the Promoter’s knowledge, information and belief, correct as at the Opening Date & Time.
  • 6.2 Prizes are subject to availability. The Promoter reserves the right to do the following:
    • 2.1 substitute any Prize with a Prize of equal or greater value; or
    • 2.2 substitute any component of the Prize with an equivalent or more suitable component, based on availability; or
    • 2.2 substitute any Prize with an appropriate cash alternative.
  • 6.3 The Winner acknowledges that no cash substitute will be provided for the Prize.

  • 6.4 If any details of the Prize change, the Promoter will endeavour to update the Website as soon as reasonably possible.
  • 6.5 The Promoter makes no representations, gives no warranties and holds no responsibility about the Prize, its value, its condition or any other information provided on the Website. The Promoter makes no representations and gives no warranties that the information provided on the Website is accurate, complete or up to date.
  • 6.6 If the Prize is a widebeam or narrowboat:
    • (a) the Promoter has no responsibility for the Prize once it has been received by the Winner; the Winner is solely responsible for complying with all relevant laws and regulations relating to the vessel, its operation and ensuring they operate it in a safe and responsible manner;
    • (b) the Winner is responsible for ensuring they have the necessary licenses, qualification, knowledge and experience to operate the vessel safely and legally;
    • (c) the Winner is solely responsible for ensuring they have all necessary safety equipment and clothing (for example, helmets, boots and gloves) and for wearing them whilst operating the vessel;
  • 6.7 The Prize may be supplied by a third-party supplier or individual.
  • 6.8 The value of the Prize offered in this competition is an estimated value based on current market prices.
  • 6.9 The actual value of the Prize may vary depending on the market conditions at the time the Prize is awarded.
  • 6.10 The Winner must accept the Prize as offered and is not entitled to transfer, exchange or resell the Prize or any part of it. After the Prize has been collected by the Winner, and ownership of the Prize has been transferred to the Winner, the Winner can from that point transfer or sell the Prize as they wish.
  • 6.11 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from or in connection with the Prize or its use, except in cases of negligence or breach of statutory duty on the part of the Promoter.
  • 6.12 The Prize is not negotiable or transferable.

7. Winners

  • 7.1 The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
  • 7.2 The Promoter will contact the Winner personally as soon as practicable after the Draw Date & Time, using the telephone number and/or email address provided with the competition entry. If the Winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed the Prize within 14 days of the Draw Date, the Promoter reserves the right to re-draw the draw from all correct entrants that were received before the Closing Date & Time.
  • 7.3 The Winner must provide a copy of their passport or driving licence in order to confirm they are both a UK or Ireland resident and aged 18 or over (at the time of entering the competition). If the winner is under the age of 18 and/or resides outside of the United Kingdom, their ticket will be invalidated and the Promoter reserves the right to re-draw the draw from all correct entrants that were received before the Closing Date & Time.
  • 7.4 The Promoter will publish all major prize winners on the Website.

8. Claiming the Prize

  • 8.1 You must claim  and collect the Prize personally. The Prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf. Arrangements for collection of the Prize will be made within 14 days of the Winner being drawn, directly with the Winner.
  • 8.2 If your personal details, including contact information, changes at any time, you should notify the Promoter as soon as reasonably possible. Notifications should be sent to the Promoter via email to hello@wildripple.org. Notifications must include details of the competition you have entered, your old details and your new details.
  • 8.3 Any Cash Prize will be transferred directly to the Winner’s nominated UK bank account. The Winner must provide evidence that they are the sole or joint beneficiary of the bank account. Failure to do so within 14 days will result in disqualification from the competition and the Winner forfeiting the Prize. In such circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to re-draw the draw from all correct entrants that were received before the Closing Date & Time.
  • 8.4 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility and is not liable to pay any compensation if the Winner is unable to or does not take up the Prize.
  • 8.5 The Promoter will not be liable for any delays in delivery of the Prize due to unforeseen circumstances or factors beyond its control.
  • 8.6 The Winner accepts the responsibility for any charges or fees incurred as a result of using the Prize.
  • 8.7 The Winner acknowledges that any damages made upon transportation to the Prize will be the responsibility of the Winner, and the Promoter will not be liable for any damages incurred during transportation or delivery.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

10. Data Protection & Publicity

  • 10.1 By entering the competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the competition entry may be held and used only by the Promoter or its agents and suppliers to administer the competition or as otherwise set out in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, a copy of which is available on the Website.
  • 10.2 If you are the Winner of the competition, you agree that the Promoter may use your name, image and town/city of residence to announce the Winner of this competition. You further agree to participate in any reasonable publicity required by the Promoter.

11. Refunds & Cancellation Policy

  • 11.1 All Entries to the Competition are final and no refunds shall be made at any time or for any reason.

12. Disputes

  • 12.1 The Promoter will try to resolve any disputes with you quickly and effectively. If you are unhappy with The Promoter, please get in contact as soon as possible by emailing hello@wildripple.org.

13. Rights of Third Parties

  • 13.1 No-one other than a party to these Terms & Conditions has any right to enforce any of these Terms & Conditions.

14. General

  • 14.1 The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The latest version of these Terms & Conditions will be available on the Website.
  • 14.2 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms & Conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition and any future competitions.
  • 14.3 The competitions on the Website are in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook or Instagram. By entering the competitions, Entrants agree that Facebook and Instagram has no liability and is not responsible for the administration or promotion of the competitions.
  • 14.4 The Promoter reserves the right to refuse or remove entry to any person(s). The Promoter will remove customer details from their database and provide a full refund if they choose to perform this action. If a person has been removed, notified and refunded from any competitions, any future accounts or entries they create using differing emails, names and/or addresses will be void, even if they possess a winning ticket number to a future competition. The Promoter reserves the right to re-draw the draw from all correct entrants that were received before the Closing Date & Time.
  • 14.5 Any discount codes provided or promoted on the website, in newsletters, on flyers or any other online or offline marketing materials are valid for discounts on competition tickets only.
  • 14.6 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
